Debra Hale is currently an Associate Professor of Performance at Florida State University, where she teaches BFA actors Linklater Voice, Dialects and Yoga. She is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG and has acted in Chicago, Los Angeles, Louisville, and continues to perform in Florida. She is interested in different cultures’ approaches to bodywork and sound and has studied Chi Nei Tsang in Thailand (internal organ massage with sound), and is a certified Viniyoga teacher after studying with Gary Kraftskow at the American Viniyoga Institute. She has taught voice at Indiana University and University of California San Diego (MFA Acting programs) and coached in several regional theatres throughout the country including Indiana Repertory, San Diego Repertory, Shakespeare and Company, The Irish Classical Repertory (New York), The Asolo, and La Jolla Playhouse. Directing credits include Indiana University, Florida State, and the Tallahassee Little Theatre. She has given workshops in Hawaii, Thailand, Scotland, London, and most recently, Greece.
