Melissa Healey is a Boston based actor and Designated Linklater Teacher. She is on the acting faculty at Emerson College, teaches in the actor training programs at Shakespeare & Company, and works privately with students. Melissa has also served on the faculty at The Boston Conservatory, working with opera performance majors. Melissa regularly leads workshops and ongoing classes at companies including Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Stoneham Theatre, and Wheelock Family Theatre. She has served as a voice coach for productions at ArtsEmerson, Emerson Stage, and Actor’s Shakespeare Project. As an actor, Melissa is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and has performed with companies including New Repertory Theatre, Stoneham Theatre, and Gloucester Stage Company. She holds a Master’s Degree from Lesley University, where she conducted an Independent Study in voice training for actors. She loves helping people to connect the dots between voice, breath, imagination, thought, and emotion, and witnessing the increased presence and creative spontaneity that follows.
