Designated Linklater Voice Teacher 1990.  Tenured Associate Professor Drama Syracuse University.  Named Shubert Chair in the Theater Arts.

Trained at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, England.

Worked as an actress in England performing in London’s West End Theatre, The National Theatre, London’s Fringe Theatre and many repertory theatres in England and Scotland.  Several television performances for BBC, ITV, and GRANADA Television.

In the USA Elizabeth has performed leading roles at Shakespeare & Company, Lenox, Massachusetts (Queen Margaret in ‘Richard III’, Paulina ‘The Winter’s Tale’, The Countess ‘All’s Well That Ends Well’, Holofernes ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’, Mistress Quickly ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’, The Abbess ‘Comedy of Errors’, Volumnia ‘Coriolanus’, Mrs. Klein ‘Mrs. Klein’, Edith Wharton ‘The Inner House’, Mrs. Graves ‘Enchanted April’, ‘Pinter’s Mirror’, ‘Maisie’.  She also works with the company as voice and text coach.

She has performed at Syracuse Stage in ‘You Never Can Tell’, ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, ‘A Christmas Carol’.  At The Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, ‘All My Sons’.  The Berkshire Theatre Festival, ‘Heartbreak House’.  The Women’s Company, playing Kent to Kristin Linklater’s Lear in ‘King Lear’.  She has performed in two productions with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (Vivaldi and Mussorgsky), and several concerts of poetry readings.

In the Drama Department Elizabeth teaches Voice and Acting, and she has directed ‘The Greeks’, ‘The Misanthrope’, ‘Blood Wedding’, ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’, ‘Rookery Nook’ and ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’.  She has taught several voice workshops in England and America.  Elizabeth is the Faculty Adviser for ‘The All Star CAST’ program in the Drama Department S.U.  This is a group for drama students and people from the community who have special needs to come together to creater theater.  The group performs each semester and has nine times been awarded The Chancellor’s Award for Public Service, and this term has been given the SU Orange Circle Award.
