I am theatre practitioner with a specialism in voice, text and accents and dialects. I studied drama at Exeter University. I spent a number of years performing, directing and devising and was Joint Artistic Director of bYAct People’s Theatre and Twisted Productions. Since 2005, I have been studying and teaching voice. I am a graduate of the MA Voice Studies Course at Central and a Designated Linklater Teacher. I have taught at East 15, Italia Conti, ACT Brighton, Circus Space, and Brighton College. For 6 years I was Head of Voice on the BA in Musical Theatre at ArtsEd and I am now Senior Lecturer on the BA Acting CDT and the MA/MFA Voice Studies courses here at Central.
My professional practice as a voice coach includes work for the RSC and other national touring and West End companies. I have led professional workshops for actors at The Actor’s Centre, The Poel Project and Central School in London and also in the USA. I regularly mentor newly qualified and trainee voice teachers and support suitable candidates to gain entry onto the Linklater Designation programme.
