Lisa Anne Porter is the Voice and Dialect Coach for the National Tour of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, having previously coached the San Francisco production at the Curran Theatre, where she also served as Resident Director during the final five months of its run. She has coached more than eighty productions nationwide.
A professional actress, director, and educator, Lisa was the Resident Associate Director for John Tiffany’s production of Let the Right One In at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. She served as Head of Acting—and previously Head of Voice and Dialects—in the MFA program at the American Conservatory Theater. Her additional teaching credits include Syracuse University, UC Berkeley, Stanford University, UC Davis, Shakespeare & Company, the Tepper Center/NYC, Naropa University, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and the Barrow Group.
As an actor, she has performed with repertory companies and Shakespeare festivals across the country. In the Bay Area, her recent roles include Suzanne (a role she originated) in Eureka Day, Tracey in Sweat, Gruach in Dunsinane, Julia in Fefu and Her Friends, and Erica in the West Coast premiere of A Bright Half Life.
Through her private coaching practice and her work as an Executive Presence Coach with Springboards Consulting, Lisa has supported clients in developing a more relaxed, truthful, and effective approach to communication. She is a Designated Linklater Teacher with an M.F.A. in Acting from A.C.T., a B.A. from Wesleyan University, and a certificate in Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
