Sara Buffamanti
Sara Buffamanti is a teacher, performer, director and mother living in Harlem, NY. She is currently the Head of Voice at LIU Post College and an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University. Additionally, she teaches at the Linklater Center for Voice and is a workshop facilitator for Columbia Global Projects. Sara served as the Associate Director of Education, Artistic Director of The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts, with past faculty service at NYCDA, Columbia University, St. Francis College and LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. Sara is an alumnus of UC Santa Barbara and Columbia University, and a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher.
As a New York based actress, Sara’s work has been seen at the Metropolitan Opera, NYTW, The Public, BAM, PS 122, HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, Bushwick Starr, Target Margin, Vortex Theater, Ontological Incubator Arts Project, Noor Theater and Queens Theater. She has performed internationally in Europe, Japan, Korea and throughout Southeast Asia. Sara was a company member of experimental theatre ensemble Performance Lab 115 from 2005-2010 and is currently the Head of Education and Applied Practice for The Apothetae. Additionally, she has served as a consultant for the Yale School of Drama, Juilliard and other institutions with a desire to integrate inclusive practices for disabled students into their existing training programs and infrastructures.
